I AM AN OLDER PERSON

Older persons have a valuable contribution to make to the community in Carlow and Carlow County Development Partnerships works to make this a reality through its support for the Older Persons Forum and its Care and Repair Service. The Care and Repair Service offers support to older members of the Carlow Community in two ways. Firstly it offers support through its "Care" side, which consists of a regular phone call to see how a person is doing and to see how we can be of assistance. Secondly, through the Repair side, it offers a practical and minor repairs service free of charge, such as changing a lock or fixing a plug. The vision of the Carlow Care and Repair programme is to enable older people to remain in their own homes, in their own communities, living as independently as possible, through the improvement of their housing conditions and their level of comfort, security and well-being.
